Federal Tax Program Assistance

On March 17, 2021, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced that the deadline for individuals to file federal income taxes for 2020 would be extended to Monday, May 17, 2021. Resources are available below for those who have questions about, or would like assistance with, their federal taxes.

On March 24, 2021, the Hawaii State Department of Taxation (DOTAX) announced that the deadline for individuals to file state income taxes for 2020 would not be extended. The deadline for individuals to file state income taxes is Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

COVID-19 Update: The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has published information about how recent tax changes may impact individuals and families this year, including those that received Economic Impact Payments (EIP or direct payments) or unemployment insurance (UI) benefits during 2020. The IRS has announced that all first and second round direct payments through the CARES Act (P.L. 116-136) and Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 (P.L. 116-260) have been issued.
