Mazie Hirono, Tulsi Gabbard plan Kaua‘i visits

LIHU‘E — Sen. Mazie K. Hirono kicks off a four-day Bringing Hawai‘i’s Voice To Washington listening tour Monday on the Garden Isle.

After her first month serving the islands in the U.S. Senate, Hirono will tour across Hawai‘i to meet with military leaders, veterans, community leaders, working families, immigration advocates and people across the state to hear how she can best bring Hawai‘i’s voice to Washington.

On Monday, she will talk with veterans and host a roundtable discussion at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center.

On Tuesday, Hirono will be ceremonially sworn in as U.S. Senator and will be opening her state office on O‘ahu.

“It is an honor and a privilege to represent the people of Hawai‘i in the Senate, and I’m working hard to make sure our state’s voice is heard in Washington,” Hirono says in a news release. “As our economy continues to recover, it is critical Hawai‘i’s people are able to share their experiences and ideas. I look forward to talking to military leaders, veterans and working families across the islands this week.”
