Senator Hirono is now accepting both programmatic appropriations requests and Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) requests for federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2025. The deadline for submissions is 6:00 p.m. Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time on Friday, April 5, 2024.
For CDS requests, we strongly encourage you to connect with the relevant policy staffer. If you need assistance getting in touch with the relevant policy staffer in Senator Hirono’s office to discuss your request(s), please email hirono_appropriations@hirono.senate.gov.
Senator Hirono supports funding for federal programs and community-based projects that demonstrate a clear and compelling benefit to the people of Hawaii. Senator Hirono consults with constituents along with state, local, and community leaders to identify projects and programs that strengthen our communities through federal assistance. The information you provide through your CDS requests is essential for Senator Hirono and her staff to advocate for Hawaii’s federal funding priorities.
Important Note: The submission of a request, either programmatic or CDS, does not guarantee that Senator Hirono will select the project or that the Senate Appropriations Committee will consider and/or include the request in their final bills.
Organizations submitting requests for CDS funds must provide detailed budget information for the requested project. For-profit organizations are ineligible to receive CDS funds. Additional information can be found on the Senate Appropriations Committee website HERE.
