Law Clerks

Clerkships are available in my Washington, D.C. office. The clerkship program is designed for full-time or part-time law students with a bachelor’s degree and at least one full year of law school education.

The clerkship program provides an opportunity to learn and gain professional experience assisting the Senator’s Counsels with their work on the Judiciary Committee and with other legal and legislative issues that may arise. Law clerks responsibilities include researching, drafting memoranda and preparing materials for committee hearings and votes. Clerks may also conduct legal research, track legislation and monitor developments in the courts and in the news.

Our office is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, color, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.  We encourage diverse applicants to apply. Ties to the State of Hawaii are strongly encouraged. Stipends may be available.

Interested applicants should submit an application containing a brief cover letter, resume, and short writing sample. If you have any additional questions about the clerkship, please contact our office at (202) 224- 6361.

All application materials must be submitted through our website. No phone calls or drop-ins please.

Applications for the fall, spring, and summer sessions are processed on a rolling basis.
